SABRINA

IGLESIAS

Hi, I’m Sabrina — a Philly-based award-winning editor, reporter, and project manager specializing in community engagement, written stories, and short videos.

I was previously one of the editors on The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Communities + Engagement team, where I wrote and edited stories, held Community Pop Ups, and created a video series called Community Tour. I was also co-lead of their LGBTQ+ ERG, Prism.

Before that, I created The Trace's first local initiative: a gun violence resource guide for Philadelphians called Up the Block. The guide was born out of countless hours of deep community engagement and close partnerships with other newsrooms such as Resolve Philly and WHYY.

My work has been featured in RJI, The Philadelphia Citizen, Gather, and Next City, to name a few, and has earned me the Gather Award in Community-Centered Journalism and Social Media Day PHL's "It's a Philly Thing" award.

Want to work together? I’m available for community engagement contracts, freelance storytelling and videography, and project management. Reach out!
